There is something really special about celebrating an event with photographs…I know this is true as a photographer and I wanted to make it true from the other side of the camera. Here are some fun loving portraits that Zoë took for us to mark our 22nd wedding anniversary. Yes, I know you are wondering if I was 12 when I got married (haha) I was 19 when Mike and I went to the JOP to exchange our vows and while I wish I could say it’s been a piece of cake the truth is keeping a marriage together is a lot of work, and sometimes we just had to fight through the bad times, and pray ourselves into a better marriage. Looking back to times when our marriage was only hanging on by a thread I am filled with gratitude that we had the support of family and friends and lots of determination to keep it together. I am more madly in love with Mike today than ever. When I see my couples interacting on their wedding days, loving on each other, sometimes it’s during their first dance they realize they are the happiest they’ve ever been, well, the good news is it only gets better!!
